The TurkStream project provides a direct connection between Russia’s extensive gas reserves and the Turkish gas transportation network, ensuring a reliable energy supply for Turkey as well as South and Southeast Europe. Developed by South Stream Transport B.V., the offshore pipeline system consists of two 32-inch pipelines running approximately 940 km from Anapa, Russia to Kıyıköy, Turkey.
Allseas was responsible for the design and installation of the pipelines, including the execution of Above Water Tie-Ins to connect separate sections installed in Russia and Turkey. For all diving-related activities, Allseas subcontracted DCN Diving, which provided comprehensive dive support from both the pipelay vessel Lorelay and the DSV Normand Poseidon.
DCN’s scope of work included Above Water Tie-In support, removal of concrete mattresses, installation and removal of clamps and IBUs, and the installation of Line Buoyancy Modules. Operating ahead of the Lorelay, the Normand Poseidon carried out critical pre-lay and support activities, contributing to the safe and efficient execution of this technically demanding offshore project.
